Awards were presented to members and community leaders. Election of officers for the coming year were conducted with Rodney France elected as the new Chapter President.

The speaker for the afternoon was the State Society President, Steve Kelley. He highlighted the growth of the Ohio Society membership to over 1600 members and noted that the national society has begun construction of the new headquarters and museum in Louisville. He also highlighted why it is important to understand our Revolutionary history – 36 of Ohio’s 88 counties are named to honor Revolutionary heroes. Williams, Paulding and Van Wert Counties were named after three privates in the New York militia that captured Major Andre and saved the plans for West Point.
