June Activities for Knox – Mount Vernon

IMG_1026Mid-Ohio Paving just north of Centerburg on SR3 posted an oversized American Flag on a 90 foot flagpole that can be seen for miles. Owner, Jim Nichols receives the SAR Flag Certificate from Flag Committee Chair Lynn McCann of the General Henry Knox Chapter.

In Early June the Chapter received new membersPhilip Houbler of Mount Vernon whose patriot fought in New Jersey and James Gregory of Delaware whose patriot fought in Delaware. Gregory also completed memberships for his son and three grandsons.  Picture below (l-r) Houbler, Gregory, and Chapter Genealogist Ernie Moreland.

A book review of the Whites of Their Eyes by Paul Lockhart told the story of Bunker Hill and the First American Army was presented by Chapter President Steve Kelley.IMG_0742
