Gates Mills Ohio 4th of July Parade
The Archibald Willard Color Guard of the Western Reserve Society Sons of the American Revolotion led the Gates Mills 4th of July Parade for our 21st year. On this bright and sunny day a large crowd was on hand for our Nation’s 241st Birthday.
The color guard led the parade up the main street of Gates Mils past the Town Hall, Library, stores and restaurants, and then across the bridge over the Chagrin River.
The Color Guard passes the reviewing stand next to the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club where they turn left and MacBride gave a Colonial bow to the judges. From here they turn the corner and proceed to the Polo Field.
At the Pollo Field, Western Reserve Society President William Shanklin, presented a SAR Certificate of Outstanding Citizenship to Gates Mills 4th Grade student, Cici Cao, for her essay on “What the 4th of July Means to Me” Then Cici lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance to commence the events.
The Cleveland Kiltie Band played patriotic music for all to enjoy. What a great day!
