JROTC Cadet Recognized For Patriotism

On May 6th, 2017, the Ohio Society Sons of the American Revolution recognized Cadet Austin Anderson of the U.S. Air Force JROTC with a special Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding patriotism.  The award was presented to Cadet Anderson at the Ohio Society’s 128th Annual State Conference held in Blue Ash, Ohio.

On September 11th, Cadet Anderson maintained a six-hour Honor Watch at Mount Vernon’s Public Square, Mount Vernon, Ohio, to draw attention to the day, and honor the fallen in New York City on 9/11.  Anderson carried the American Flag during his vigil.

Anderson is an active member of the Knox Career Center’s AFJROTC program, and a participant in the VFW Buckeye Boys State Program and Wreath Across America Services.  He is a recent graduate of the Mount Vernon High School, and will enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps in June.

Lt. Colonel Christopher Salvucci, U.S.A.F. (Ret), attended the presentation with Anderson.  He is the commander of the AFJROTC program at the Knox Career Center.
