The ROTC/JROTC program was created to recognize ROTC/JROTC cadets who express patriotism, leadership, military bearing, scholarship and general excellence in a well crafted original essay. For the State contest each cadet must submit the essay on the topic “How JROTC has prepared me to be a better citizen of the United States”. The essay is also used in the National contest.
