On July 11th at New Reading, Ohio, the Hocking Valley Chapter SAR Color Guard participated in the Perry County Historical Society’s 219th Celebration of the birthday of Colonel Randolph Mitchell, veteran of the War of 1812 and early settler of Perry County. The event included tours of the Historical Society house and grounds, the SAR, re-enactments, a hog roast banquet, evening games, a bonfire, and music provided by the Heritage Fife and Drum.
