SAR Camp Charlotte Chapter Presents Oration Award
At its May 26th meeting in Circleville, Ohio, the Camp Charlotte Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recognized Circleville High School student Tanner Bigam for his competition in the SAR’s George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest. Bigam won first place for his essay in the chapter’s competition, and finished third at the Ohio Society’s state-wide contest.
The essay contest is designed to give freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students an opportunity to explore events that shaped American history. The students must submit an original essay with topics based on original research and deal with an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution.
Bigam was presented with a certificate, and monetary awards from the Camp Charlotte Chapter and the Ohio Society.
