Memorial Day Service at Spring Grove Cemetery – Cincinnati
On Memorial Day, May 25th, 2015, members of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution held a memorial ceremony at Spring Grove Cemetery’s Memorial to the Soldiers of the Revolutionary War.
Although there was rain, it didn’t quench the proverbial candle of reverence to our forefathers lighted there. The service was ended with a prayer: “Keep in our memory the ideals of our society, so ably set forth in the lives of our departed compatriots, that we may continue the work they have started and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life.”
In attendance were: Paul M. Wilke, Kenneth Carpenter, and Michael B. Gunn of the Cincinnati Chapter SAR; Valerie Wilke Regent of the John Reily Chapter DAR; and Anna Insprucker of the Fort Hamilton Society C.A.R.
