On Saturday, May 23rd, the Hocking Valley Chapter Sons of the American Revolution membership met at American Legion Post 11 in Lancaster, Ohio.  The program titled “Progress of Democracy from the Magna Carta to the Constitutions” was presented by the chapter’s own Compatriot John Dye, followed by the installation of the newly elected chapter officers by Ohio Society SAR President James D. Schaffer.

Also representing the Ohio Society at the meeting were OHSSAR 2nd Vice-President Steve Frash; Director-at-Large Paul M. Wilke; and Director-at-Large Tim Ward.

After the meeting, Compatriot Dye “changed roles”, and conducted a personal tour of the Sherman House Museum, birthplace of Civil War U.S. Army General William Tecumseh Sherman, in downtown Lancaster.  Compatriot Dye serves as a volunteer docent at the museum.
