Stephanie M. Durbin of Kenton, Ohio Recognized as Outstanding JROTC Cadet

For the past 15 years, the Ohio Society Sons of the American Revolution has annually recognized an Outstanding JROTC Cadet from nominations by various Ohio SAR chapters.  These nominees are all outstanding JROTC cadets, both male and female, from Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps units within Ohio.

State level judging for this year’s nominees was completed on April 15, 2015.  Winning first place in the Ohio Society competition was Cadet 2nd Lt. Stephanie M. Durbin of the U.S. Army Instructor Group, Kenton High School, Kenton, Ohio.  She was entered by the Centennial Chapter of Lima, Ohio.  Cadet Durbin received the SAR Enhanced JROTC State Silver Medallion and a $300 cash award at the Ohio Society’s 126th State Conference in Dayton, Ohio on May 2nd.  She received a similar medal and a $200 award from the Centennial Chapter on May 1, 2015.

The Second Place 2015 Outstanding Cadet in Ohio in the program was sponsored by the George Rogers Clark Chapter of Springfield, Ohio.  Receiving a $200 check from the Ohio Society is Cadet 1st Lt. Christopher M. Levering, U.S. Marine Corps JROTC, Springfield High School, Springfield, OH.
