John Hancock Chapter Celebrates Silver Anniversary
The John Hancock Chapter in Findlay celebrated it’s 25th anniversary with an open house at the Hancock Historical Museum in Findlay, Ohio. Chartered on April 27th, 1990 as Chapter #28 of the Ohio Society, the men of the John Hancock Chapter hosted a group of distinguished guests at the cake an punch social. Highlights of the event included a presentation by OHSSAR President Ted Minier, a Mayoral proclamation by Mayor Lydia Mihalik and the Hancock County Commissioners calling April 27th “Sons of the American Revolution Day” in Findlay and Hancock Count, as well as a citation for service presented by the Office of Congressman Robert Latta (R-OH 5th District). It also included the presentation of the chapter Eagle Scout Scholarship Medal to Troop 338’s Travis Yamine.
Other special guests in attendance included OHSSAR President-Elect James Schaffer, Past-President Paul Wilke, representation from the Fort Findlay and Ursula Wolcott-Black Swamp Chapters of the DAR, Marc Krogan, Council Executive of the Black Swamp Area Council and Dr. Katherine Fell, President of the University of Findlay.
