Western Reserve Oration – Cleveland
On Wednesday, April 15 at The Union Club of Cleveland, The Western Reserve Society held their annual Douglas G. High Oration contest for high school students. Chairman, J. Atlee Horner organized and conducted a great competition that the members appreciated and enjoyed. The students were outstanding and very close in the final scoring. They used the available space, vocalized well, and most importantly had their historic topic relate to today.
The winners were Sophia Zupanc, Gilmour Academy, first place, “America the Land of the Future”; Issiah Paik, University School, second place, “The True Revolution”, and Nupur Goel, Gilmour Academy, third place, “Boston Tea Party”. Congratulations to all the students!
