Western Reserve Society Hosts 30 Linage & Historical Societies – Shaker Heights
On Saturday, February 21, 2015, over 80 SAR members, wives and guests from some thirty plus Patriotic and Historical organizations gathered to celebrate George Washington’s 283rd Birthday on a cold and snowy day to attend the Western Reserve Society George Washington Birthday Luncheon at the Shaker Heights Country Club.
The Western Reserve Society color guard and members of the DAR and C.A.R. included John Franklin commander, Lee MacBride, Zackary Hoon, Frank Moore, Stan Thomas and Claude Custer and Jane Plank past Regent of David Hudson DAR, Holli Barnett the senior leader of the C.A.R., who posted and retired the colors for the event. President David Foster recognized the Patriotic and Historical organizations that had gathered for the event.

Entertainment was presented by the Ladies “dot Calm” Barbershop Quartet singing Patriotic Music and other songs.
After the Archibald Willard Color and DAR, C.A.R. ladies retired the colors, the snow had stopped. It was still freezing cold and time to drive home.
