Age of Enlightenment – Columbus

The Benjamin Franklin Chapter held its George Washington Birthday Observance on Friday, February 20th at the Clintonville Woman’s Club.  About eighty people heard Dr. Denise Riley speak on, “An Enlightened Revolution.” Dr. Riley highlighted the historical Roman, and English documents that influenced the Enlightenment and our founding leaders.

Chapter President Chuck Finley called for a moment of silence to remember long time chapter member Mayor Buck Rinehart who passed after a long fight with cancer.  Ed Hamlin recovering from hip surgery was present and received a framed Certificate of Appreciation for his multiple years of service as chapter registrar.

Greetings were presented by Sandy McCann, Ohio DAR Regent, Lexie Mehl, Whetstone CAR representative and Tony Robinson, SAR Central District VPG.
