Harvest Fair – Baltimore
The Hocking Valley Chapter OHSSAR attended the Smeck Farm Harvest Fair in Baltimore on Sunday, September 7th. Compatriots Paul Irwin and Bob Hill set up an exhibit that included patriotic posters, pictures and articles on chapter activities, Revolutionary War flags and weapons, and pamphlets about the SAR, flag etiquette, and Wreaths Across America. Compatriot Keith Kaufman joined Paul and Bob later in the morning and all three enjoyed the many nice people who were encountered during the six hour event. The weather was perfect. The historic farm had exhibits that included various arts and crafts, nature, agriculture and antiques, blacksmithing, bee-keeping, food, music, and a Civil War encampment complete with firing cannon. Nine potential “recruits” were signed-up for the chapter, and one for the DAR.
