Gold Star Mothers Memorial Day – Cincinnati

The American Gold Star Mothers Tri-State Chapter is hosting a Family Oriented, Educational, and Interactive event at VOA Park in West Chester Ohio.

At the historic Voice of America Park and Museum there were the Ohio Flags of Honor, the Eyes of Freedom, the Tomb of the Unknowns, the SAR Captain Miller Historic Flag Collection, the WWII Ghost Army, the Eyes Wide Open Memorial, the Ohio Feathers of the Fallen, and the China Marines Reenactment  Units for WWI, WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War.

Over three days, May 24,25,26, the Cincinnati Chapter SAR presented the Captain Howard Miller Memorial Flag Collection.  Present were Compatriots Paul M. Wilke, Compatriot Michael Gunn, Compatriot James Schaffer from the Cincinnati Chapter SAR, John Reily Chapter DAR Regent Valerie Wilke, and Ft. Hamilton Society CAR President Anna Insprucker.

The elderly gentleman in the  wheelchair is a 92 year old WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. Valerie and Paul Wilke are standing.

Each memorial tells the story of sacrifice and service. All together it is an overwhelming and humbling experience.
