Washington County Celebrates – Marietta
The Ohio Society Sons of the American Revolution Marietta Chapter, met on April 30, 2014 at Marietta, in Washington County, Ohio, with the Washington County Commissioners to receive a Proclamation to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the inauguration of George Washington as President of the United States.
The Washington County Commissioners, Marietta Ohio, expressed its appreciation to the Marietta Chapter Sons of the American Revolution by lending it leadership to commemorate this historic milestone in our nation’s history.
Mayor Joe Matthews of Marietta read a congratulatory proclamation and highlighted the shared history of the city’s founding in 1788 and the founding of this nation by the same patriots that the Sons of the American Revolution honor today.
