Remembering Charles Edwards – Cincinnati


Charles Edwards was remembered by the Cincinnati Chapter on August 8th in Delhi. Charles passed away on Saturday August 3rd at age 83 years. The Cincinnati Chapter Color Guard and the Sons of Union Veterans combined forces to remember their fallen compatriot.

Charles was the State Society Historian and Publicity Chairman for many years. Charles received the State Society highest recognition, the Hub Scott Award in 2011. He was an active SAR member at the national level participating in several committees. He also served as Chapter President of the Cincinnati Chapter.

He was a great historian belonging to the Derry Area Historical Society of Loyalhanna, PA, the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society and Armstrong County Genealogical Club. He was a charter member of the Citizen’s Flag Alliance, a member of the Caledonian Society, the Heritage Society of Pennsylvania, Society of Indiana Pioneers. Most importantly he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, Korean War, and proud of our American Flag.
