On Saturday, May 11, in Veterans Memorial Park, Norwalk, OH, the Sally De Forest Chapter of the DAR held a ceremony honoring the 117 Revolutionary War Patriots who lived or are buried in Huron County.  This event culminated over three years of research by the Chapter along with the help of Boyd Weber and Henry Timmon of the Firelands SAR Chapter.  Sharleen Shoaf, State Regent Ohio DAR was in attendance.  Wreaths were laid by several organizations and Dan Haas and Jim Haas provided a musket salute.  In addition, Thomas Putnam from the John Hancock chapter, and Lance Beebe, Dan Cutter and Chuck Knight from the Firelands Bicentennial chapter assisted with Color Guard duties.  Hats off to Dan Cutter (center in picture below) as this was his first Color Guard Event.
