Revolutionary Luncheon – Parkersburg, WV


The Marietta Chapter, Ohio Society and the Captain James Neal Chapter, West Virginia Society hosted a Combined Holiday Luncheon with three local DAR chapters in Parkersburg, WV on Sunday December 2nd. Over 100 guests from fifteen chapters were in attendance at the Parkersburg Country Club.

Vice President General Forrest Chilton of Kentucky, State Presidents from the West Virginia Society and the Ohio Society were present. In addition the West Virginia State Regent for the DAR was in attendance.

The featured speaker was U.S. Congressman David McKinley (pictured above). He is the U.S. House of Representative for the West Virginia first district. He was reelected to his second term in November. The Representative spoke about his patriot ancestor and discovering his family roots. Rep McKinley was officially inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution. His son and grandsons were also inducted.

With the conclusion of his presentation, the West Virginia Society awarded Representative McKinley with the Silver Good Citizenship Medal. (Note – on his lapel, the Representative is wearing his U.S. House Pin, the SAR Rosette and the Silver Good Citizenship Medal.
